Personality & Traits

General Overview Compassionate: He prioritizes helping others and protecting innocent people, even when it puts him in danger.

Self-doubting: He often questions his abilities and worries about making mistakes, especially when facing major threats.

Loyal: He is fiercely protective of his loved ones, particularly Angela, his sister.

Curious and Inquisitive: He has a strong interest in science and technology, often tinkering with gadgets and trying to understand how things work.

Socially Awkward: He can be shy and struggle with social interactions, particularly when expressing romantic interest.

Adaptable: He is quick to think on his feet and come up with creative solutions during combat situations.
Mutant Power(s) Super Speed (2): Drew is able to run at a sustained speed of 240 mph/386kph for 3 hours and has a sprint speed of 300mph/483kph for 6 minutes. Drew takes 6 seconds to accelerate to his sustained speed and another 2 seconds to surge to sprint speed. He decelerates in approximately half the time.

Accelerated Perception-Reaction Time (2): Normal Human PRT is approximately 1.5 to 3 seconds. Drew can perceive and react to his environment in 125 milliseconds, just over one-tenth of a second.

Accelerated Healing (2): Drew can heal injuries and illnesses at an incrediuperrate. Minor injuries and illnesses (minor cuts, bruises, common cold, etc.) he can recover from in less than 24 hours. More serious injuries (broken bones, gunshot wounds) generally take a week at most to heal.

Super Stamina (2): Drew's body produces significantly less toxins associated with intense activity. He is able to run at 80% of his top speed for 3 hours and top speed for 6 minutes. He can generally maintain slower speeds for longer periods of time, running for up to 6 hours at any speed up to 150mph/240kph. Drew needs to eat and drink to replace calories and electrolytes to avoid feeling weak or dizzy after such exertion listed above.

Weaknesses: Cold environments and Cold-based attacks can hamper Drew's abilities, even completely depower him in some cases (GM's discretion). Drew also needs to eat a great deal as he burns calories at an enormous rate when tapping into his super speed.

Origin Story Drew Williams was born on June 22nd, 1973. Angela Williams, Drew's sister, was born ten minutes later. He and his sister were raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts where his father was a Research Fellow at Harvard working on the G-nome Mapping Research.

Drew's mutant powers began manifesting in 1986, around the time of his 13th birthday. It was not readily apparent what was happening as the changes in his body were gradual at first.

Drew's 8th grade physical education teacher took notice of his ability and recommended he begin training for tryouts for track and cross country in high school. The high school couch was even invited to come check out Drew's ability to perform. Drew performed the 100m, quarter mile and 1 mile runs near the end of the school year where he came close to record times set by high school students.

Drew started running track and cross country in the fall of 1987. He, by the end of the school year, had surpassed every record for running ever set. Those records were not only for his school, but every school in the state. There was talk of Drew being tapped to compete in the 1988 Summer Olympics for the United States.

Drew declined the honor of competing for the USA team for fear of exposing what he was a mutant. Something he realized about halfway through his freshman year in high school when he ran 30mph for a full mile without overextending himself. He discovered he could sprint up to 36mph for a little over a minute 45 seconds.

Drew decided to continue his track and cross country during high school as a means to obtain a college scholarship in the future. He was always careful to not expose his true capabilities for fear of discovery.

Drew, going into his senior year of high school, was receiving a multitude of college acceptance letters and offers for scholarships from a number of prestigious universities. He had decided he wanted to study physics and mathematics when he went to college as he had pursued those studies in high school to better understand his mutant abilities.

His dreams of college came to an end when Angela, his sister, was almost hit by a car while crossing the street. Drew rushed out into the street at full speed and grabbed Angela and carried her to safety. He was caught on film by a group of students doing a local video journalism project. The father of one of the students was a journalist and broke the story of the the rescue of Angela Williams and concluded her brother must be the mutant speedster. It took the journalist two months, but he finally caught Drew on camera running at speeds no human could.

Drew's family knew, when the journalist released his expose, that he would need to leave. Anti-mutant bias was strong where he lived. His parents knew it was only a matter of time before law enforcement or a government agency would show up to take Drew, and possibly Angela, away.

Drew and Angela were put on a bus and sent to an old friend of their father's. Someone that could be trusted to protect the siblings. Someone who could even train Drew how to use his powers for good. Three days after leaving on the bus, the Williams siblings arrived by cab at the gates of Xavier's School for Gifted Children.
Past Exploits Saving his sister from being hit by a car was the only time he ever used his full powers in public.
