Mission: Episode 4: The Savage ConneXion
Location: Mansion
Timeline: August 30, 1990 - 00:32ish

Iris had dressed as quickly as possible and tossed some extra clothes into a backpack. She then had one quick task that would take mere minutes before she headed to Magneto’s transport. She hurried quickly through the halls to the nearest phone. The hallway her room was in was completely deserted at the moment, so she didn’t have to be too ridiculously quiet. She didn’t like making this call from the mansion, but she didn’t have time to call from anywhere else. And now that Professor Xavier knew about what she was doing, she didn’t worry about him finding out.

Making the call was important this time not to make sure the president left her family alone, but to inform him that neither The Brotherhood nor the Xmen were responsible for the storms; she didn’t want to come back and find that the feds had invaded the mansion, after all. And as much as she didn’t care about the Brotherhood, she didn’t think they should be blamed for something they had not done.

Using the calling card, she quickly placed the call. Nobody was manning the phones at this time of night, so she got an answering service.

”Please speak operation name, code name, and message,” spoke an electronic voice. Then followed a beep.

“Operation Strawberry,” she said. “Hoodwink speaking. The storms are not being caused by the Brotherhood as we had previously thought. Magneto has asked the help of the Xmen to stop them. We are currently en route to Antarctica to do that. Not sure when I’ll be back, but will give a full report at my next call. Don’t have time for more details now.” With that, she hung up.

Then she took off at a run to get to Magneto’s craft on time, satisfied that at least nobody had a reason to further investigate the mansion.
