mansionfacade.png What is now known as the X-Mansion has been a fixture in New England for over ten generations. Some historians believe that the town of Salem Center in Westchester County, NY was formed around the original estate and its prominence near Breakstone Lake, but this opinion is disputed.

Charles Xavier inherited the estate from his mother, Sharon Xavier, who died when he was a child. His stepfather, Curt Marko, served as estate executor until his untimely death years later in an accident. Charles and his stepbrother, Cain Marko, lived there until they were drafted into the Vietnam War.

After various travels abroad which confined Professor Xavier to a wheelchair, he resumed his regular residence at 1407 Greymalkin Lane in 1980 when he formally founded Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. Currently a private school for the gifted, its Victorian style belies the extensive modifications within the architecture and substructure which utilize not only cutting-edge human technology but recovered alien devices from Charles Xavier's extensive travels and previous X-Men missions.
